Academic Hours

Monday the 20th – Wednesday the 22nd of August from approximately 09:00 to 16:00

Through the first three days of the introduction week, the Tutors will give you a taste of the university life including your study programme.

We, your Tutors, have planned the introduction programme so that you get the possibility to get to know your fellow students as well as get a taste of the university life including your study programme. Throughout the introduction days, you will work on an academic project called the introduction project with your fellow students. In this project, you explore how to structure and develop an academic project ending up presenting the outcome in groups. Do not worry about perfection; we, your Tutors, will focus on creating a comfortable environment and will be present all the time to help – it is going to be a lot of fun! In addition, during the introduction days, you will also meet the Head of your programme, who will introduce you to your study programme. As well as meet the Student and Career Guidance, who will tell you more about the everyday life at the IT University as well as rules, regulations and possibilities.

Wi-Fi at ITU

Since there will be roughly 350 people starting at ITU this semester, it is hard for the IT-department at ITU to help every single new student connect to our Wi-Fi. However, connecting has been made incredibly simple and you can prepare from home! Follow these steps:

  1. Visit:
  2. Follow the instructions.
  3. Use your ITU email and ITU password to log in.

When you arrive to ITU your device will be able to connect with either Eduroam or ITU++. Please note that the system actually does not know if your log in options are correct – it just trusts you. So, if there is a fault you will quickly see when you try to connect. Fixing the problem is simple though – just re-do the 3 steps with correct information and it should work. If not, there will be people to help you out. Pinky promise!

Q: How do I get to ITU?

A: Take the metro to DR Byen or take Bus 33 to Hørgåden (Amagerfælledvej). You can enter ITU from revolving doors in both ends of the building. Your tutors will welcome you and help you get there – we are wearing green shirts!

Q: What do I do if I’m going to be late?

A: Write a message to the Tutor for your respective program (see below) and we will help guide you to where you need to be.

Q: Do I need to bring my computer for the intro project?

A: It is suggested, but it is not necessary. ITU has desktop computers stationed around the corridors which you can use.

Q: Do I need to bring lunch?

A: You can bring your own lunch or you can buy something to eat in the canteen.

Q: Do I need to stay for the afternoon activities?

A: It is not mandatory, but we strongly recommend staying and having fun with all of your fellow students.

Q: Do I need any special skills for the intro project (e.g. programming, editing, Photoshop etc.)?

A: No, for now, we’re going easy on you and the intro project is for fun and bonding. Your group can use whichever skills you have.

Q: I don’t drink coffee, will I survive being at ITU that early in the morning?

A: Yes, and we are all in the same boat, so we will get through it together. And we promise it’s going to be worth it!
